The City of Littleton is developing a downtown mobility & streetscape improvements plan, called Project Downtown, to guide the City’s investment decisions to improve multimodal connectivity, parking, pedestrian safety, wayfinding, and streetscape enhancements (i.e., lighting, trees and wider sidewalks) in Downtown Littleton.

This downtown revitalization project reminds me of my public health nursing research on how urban planning affects community wellbeing. While collecting data for my dissertation on neighborhood walkability and chronic disease rates, I found myself overwhelmed by both the fieldwork and the statistical analysis required for my academic writing.
