Candlelight Walk Returns for its 40th Year on Nov. 24th!

Littleton’s holiday spirit will shine bright in 2023, as the Candlelight Walk returns for its 40th year November 24!

  • 5:30 - 7:30 PM - parade starts at 6:30 PM

  • Santa is the grand finale of the parade and will light the tree at the end of the parade. He will then go to Town Hall for photos with kids.

  • Live Reindeer, Dancing Christmas Tree's, Toy Soldiers will be on site.

  • Heritage High School will perform from 5:30 - 6:30 PM

  • Christmas carolers will be on Main Street from 5:30 - 6:30 PM

The Candlelight Walk is Littleton’s annual kickoff to the holiday season, held the Friday after Thanksgiving. Santa Claus is the guest of honor for a procession down Main Street that includes floats, music, and holiday entertainment.

Traditionally, Santa’s magic lit up dozens of trees that lined Main Street since the 1980s. But many of the trees that once flanked Main Street are gone this year, removed this summer after city foresters discovered they were dying from an incurable fungal disease.

The City of Littleton, working with the Littleton Downtown Development Authority, has plans for the Candlelight Walk that preserves traditional elements and introduces new fun. Main Street will be lined with lighted displays, with a special projected display just for Town Hall Arts Center.

Old favorites will return, including live reindeer, free hot cider and cocoa, strolling carolers, and of course the candles that give the Candlelight Walk its name! The lighting elements will stay in place until early 2024.

Entertainment on Main Street will begin at 5:30 with the Candlelight Walk starting at 6:30 p.m. , Friday, November 24.
